Our Handmade Holiday Ornament Workshop

There’s just something magical about making art in December.

The lights are twinkling, the cocoa’s warm, and the whole world feels like it’s wrapped in possibility. So on Saturday, I gathered with a small but mighty group of women for my Holiday Ornament Workshop, and y’all—it was pure creative joy.

What We Made

Each participant created a set of handmade holiday ornaments using festive mixed media techniques—layered collage, vintage-style napkins, and more.

The project was simple enough to be relaxing, but full of opportunities for self-expression. Some used cardinals and pine branches, others leaned into florals and hand-lettered phrases like “Merry Merry.”

No two ornaments were alike—each one a reflection of the artist who made it.

The Vibe

You could feel the energy shift as soon as we got started. There was laughter, focused creativity, and a quiet kind of connection that always happens when women gather to make art.

Everyone came in ready to play and create. Two even talked about making more for their trees!

Those are the moments that make teaching so worth it.

A Few Favorite Moments

One of my favorite parts of the afternoon was watching everyone ease into their creative flow—heads down, hands busy, and tables scattered with joyful little messes of paper and paint.

By the end of the workshop, the smiles were huge and the handmade ornaments were even better than I imagined. Everyone proudly held up their finished pieces for a group photo, and let me tell you… the joy in that moment was real.

Hi, I’m Misty

Mixed media artist, creative guide, and passionate believer in the power of fearless self-expression. After years of playing small and settling for a life that didn’t feel like mine, I chose to rewrite my story through art — and I’ve never looked back.

Now, I help women just like you break free from perfectionism and self-doubt so you can reconnect with your creative voice and boldly explore what lights you up. Whether you’re picking up a paintbrush for the first time or returning to art after years away, my mission is to help you step bravely into your own magic — one joyful, messy layer at a time.
