Fall Magic & Mini Pumpkins: A Look Inside Our October Workshop

What do you get when you mix mini pumpkins, paint, laughter, and a table full of women ready to create?
You get a whole lot of fall magic—and that’s exactly what happened at my October mini pumpkin workshop!

This past weekend, I hosted a mixed media workshop at Made By You in Springfield, and let me tell you... my heart is so full. Nine out of ten women came, ready to dive in and make something uniquely their own—and every single person left with not just a beautiful piece of art, but a big ol’ creative spark, too.

What we Made

Each participant decorated their own mini pumpkin cutout using layers of paint, collage, stamps, and fall-inspired textures. Some added hand-lettered words like “Happy Fall” or “Faith. Love. Hope.” Others let their creativity roam free with beautiful autumnal details.

The results?
No two pumpkins were alike—and every one was gorgeous.

These sweet little pumpkins are the perfect size to display on a shelf, tuck into a fall centerpiece, or give as a handmade gift. But more than that? They’re a reminder that art doesn’t have to be complicated to be meaningful.

The Energy in the Room

The vibe was pure joy. Women chatting, laughing, and enjoying creativity. Some hadn’t created in years. Others were new to mixed media altogether. A few came with friends, and some came solo—but by the end, we were one big art-loving crew.

What I love most about these workshops isn’t just the art—it’s the connection. The comradery shared. The “oops” moments turned into favorite details. The courage to try something new.

We weren’t there to be perfect. We were there to play.

And that? That’s where the magic happens.
